Marsh Hen Mill | Guinea Flint Cornmeal
The kernels of Guinea Flint corn exhibit a warm, pumpkin hue, making this heirloom strain both beautiful and unique. Known for its sturdiness and full-bodied characteristics, Guinea Flint corn is perfect for producing a hearty cornmeal. This corn has an interesting history; it was transported across the Atlantic twice, first from the South to Africa during pre-Colonial times, where specific traits were cultivated by growers. Upon its return to the South in the 19th century, this crop, originally known for its single ear per stalk, evolved to produce up to eight cobs per stalk. We are thrilled to offer this historic grain to you.
